LG-Chemicals is the world’s third manufacturers of Li-Ion technology cells. These products are used in professional electronic equipment, measurement instruments, power tools and electric motors.

 

Cylindrical batteries

LG manufactures lithium-ion cylindrical and prismatic type cells. “18650” is the main cylindrical cell model, dimensions: 1.5 (diameter) x 65 mm (height). LG cells deliver high energy density, long lifetimes, a wide range of operating currents and low self-discharge rates. The cells include internal safeguards (fuse, pressure isolator switch, increased temperature resistance separator). When designing and manufacturing rechargeable batteries from Li-Ion cells it is necessary to use an electronic plate to protect the cells against overcharging, excessively deep discharges, short circuits and high temperatures, all of which can damage the rechargeable battery causing a fire or explosion.
