Lithium-ion batteries (Li-Ion) of SAFT

Prismatic batteries - MP series

The MP series Saft lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are of a prismatic type. Apart from large nominal capacities (2.6 to 6.8 Ah) and long lifetimes (600 to 2500+ cycles), their most innovative property is the ability to charge, discharge and operate in a wide range of temperatures (-20°C to +60°C for charging, -50°C to +60°C for discharging). The rechargeable batteries feature multi-level operational safeguards, a built-isolating switch activated in the event of a fault in the charging system, a breaker separator, a safety valve and fuse. Such a construction means that the rechargeable batteries may be used in devices requiring the highest power supply parameters, such as space probing system, where extreme ambient temperatures are encountered. The parameters of these rechargeable batteries facilitate simple estimation of battery state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH).

Cylindrical batteries - VL Series

VL series Saft lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are specialist cells in a cylindrical format. They feature high energy density, large nominal capacities and long lifetimes. An innovative feature is the ability to operate in a very wide range of temperatures, between -50oC and +125oC depending on the model. The ability to operate in extreme temperatures up to +125oC is unique on a world scale.

The rechargeable batteries feature multi-level operational safeguards, a built-isolating switch activated in the event of a fault in the charging system, a breaker separator, a safety valve and fuse.
